ROLE OF THE JOB
As Highways and Structures Technical Assistant you will assist the Highway Delivery Senior Team Leaders with day to day management of the operational teams, to meet the requirements of the County Council and other clients. You will also be responsible for managing the day to day delivery of services to achieve high levels of stakeholder satisfaction.
Key Duties Include:
- Take responsibility for all day to day workload and staffing issues relating to the Local Area Operational Highways Construction and Maintenance Teams.
- Coordinate resources for individual activities to ensure the provision of services within the agreed policy and financial framework for Construction and Highways Maintenance.
- Assist to prepare service delivery and plans for operational Construction and Highways Maintenance matters. To oversee their implementation and monitor progress.
- Monitor Workforce and help determine training requirements. Production of sickness returns and authorisation of holiday entitlements.
- Carry out inspections,monitor and report both authorised and unauthorised works.
- Ensure Public Liability Claims and immobile property damages are minimised and investigations are conducted and relevant documents are processed, as necessary.
- Deliver training to workforce in the form of ‘tool boxtalks’ etc
REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB
- Full Driving Licence
- Technical qualification at HNC or equivalent level.
- Relevant Health and Safety Training
- NVQ 4 in Supervisory management
- General standard of education demonstrating literacy and numeracy
- Relevant Supervisory and Management experience
