We’re looking for a strategic, forward-thinking Head of Technology to lead our digital evolution and ensure our organisation delivers modern, user centred and data driven services that truly meet the needs of our communities.

You’ll lead a talented Technology team and play a key role in our Senior Management Team, influencing organisation wide strategy and helping deliver our Corporate Plan.
What You’ll Lead
As our Head of Technology, you will:
Set the Vision
- Define and deliver a bold Technology Strategy aligned with our priorities.
- Shape a secure, scalable, cloud first technology landscape.
Drive Technical Excellence
- Oversee platforms, applications and system optimisation.
- Embed digital, data and technology considerations into major programmes—including transformation initiatives.
Provide Strategic Leadership
- Act as chief technical adviser to senior leaders, directors and elected members.
- Bring innovation into everyday practice, promoting emerging technologies and continuous improvement.
Strengthen Governance & Value
- Ensure compliance with legislation, policy and best practice.
- Lead financial planning, supplier management and value for money service delivery.
Build Strong Partnerships
- Collaborate locally, regionally and nationally, driving shared services and partnership working.
- Champion digital inclusion, sustainability and outcomes that benefit all communities.
About You
You’ll bring:
- Proven success in delivering organisation wide technology strategies.
- Expertise in cloud technologies, cybersecurity, data governance and agile practice.
- Strong leadership capability with experience managing large budgets and complex programmes.
- Ability to co‑design solutions with users and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, able to operate confidently at all levels.
- A strategic mindset with a passion for innovation, service improvement and public value.
- Level 6 qualification in IT or equivalent senior experience required.
