We are looking to recruit into a brand-new position within the Financial Assessment and Benefits Team. 


The Finance Team Manager will be responsible for managing a team of Administrative Assistants and a Team Clerk. The team is responsible for providing administrative support to the Financial Assessment and Benefits Officers and generating Individual Placement Agreements (IPAs). The Finance Team Manager will also be responsible for overseeing the Deferred Payment Agreements for residents in residential/nursing homes who require temporary funding from Northumberland County Council.  The Finance Team Manager will work closely with other managers in Adult Care Finance to develop this new role and to improve service delivery. 

 

The Financial Assessment & Benefits Team consists of a Finance Section Manager14 Financial Assessment and Benefits Officers, a Team Clerk and Administrative Assistants. The team are based at two sites (Alnwick and Blyth).  

 

As this position is new to the structure of Adult Care Finance, we are looking for a person that will contribute towards service improvement and develop this role. The successful person must have excellent communications skills and be able to deal with complex queries regarding charging and assessments in line with The Care Act 2014. The individual will have access to DWP systems under strict guidelines. The post holder will be motivated and lead the team, ensuring processes are followed consistently and within set key performance indicators set by the department. 

 

This position is based at Blyth. After initial training, hybrid working will be available (subject to the needs of the service). 

 

Salary: Band 7 £33,024 - £36,648 

Contract: Permanent, Full Time (37hrs) 


Requirements:
  • Degree and/or equivalent specialist knowledge of Financial Assessment & Welfare benefits acquired through courses and experience.  

  • Excellent keyboard skills  

  • A valid driving license is required for travelling between office locations 

  • A DBS check will be required for the post
