The Finance Officer role is a key role working in the Finance Team in Adult Social Care. The vacancy we have is within the Payments, Charging and Governance Team, working alongside 12 Finance Officers and a Team Manager.
The team are responsible for paying domiciliary and residential providers for care services provided to Adults in Northumberland, charging and collection of contributions for care services, follow up of non-payments and final accounts.
The post holder must have excellent numeracy and keyboard skills as working quickly and accurately are essential for the role; the volume of work is substantial with contractual deadlines to be met.
Due to the sensitive nature of the work, conversations with customers may be challenging, therefore the ability to converse at ease is essential for the post.
The role is permanent, working 37 hours per week which allows for flexible working with some constraints eg. duty/office cover. Full training will be carried out in an office setting followed by a hybrid style of working. The posts are based at County Hall, Morpeth.
The salary for the post is Band 4 £22,369 - £24,054.
Requirements of the job:
- The post holder must have G.C.S.E in Maths and English(or equivalent).
- Excellent IT Skills and experience with Microsoft Office is essential
- Recent experience in a finance role is desirable but not essential.
