The Northumberland Coast Area Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) Partnership is looking for someone to work on the Farming in Protected Landscapes (FiPL) programme until 31 March 2025. Created by Defra, and managed by the Northumberland Coast AONB partnership, FiPL helps farmers, land managers and others to deliver work on the land under the themes of climate, nature, people and place. This part time role of 3 days per week is with the Northumberland Coast AONB team, hosted by Northumberland County Council, and will be based at Alnwick with flexibility for home working. As the Farming in Protected Landscapes Assistant, you will provide advice and guidance to applicants, respond to enquiries, support applications and check works have been undertaken.
The main duties of this role include: To assist with enquiries, applications, agreements and project work, including meeting farmers, site visits and surveys, drawing up proposals, liaising with contractors and the production of maps and documents relevant to applications. To undertake research into innovative projects for potential FiPL applications, and liaison with other FiPL teams, experts and establishments. Also, to help promote the FiPL programme through attendance at events, meetings, using social media, and working with partner organisations.
