Job Information
Are you passionate about ensuring new parents are supported to have good mental health and a strong relationship with their baby? If so, we have fantastic opportunities to be part of Northumberland's Family Hub development across Northumberland.
Successful applicants will be part of a service which is rapidly developing to support families with children aged 0-19 and up to 25 years for SEND.
6 x Family Hub Practitioners (1 working across Ashington / Bedlington / Morpeth areas; 1 x Blyth / Cramlington / Seaton Valley areas; 2 covering the West Northumberland area; 2 covering North Northumberland).
You will be part of a wider team, delivering a Family Wellbeing Service which provides support to new and expecting parents, strengthening relationships between babies and carers, who are experiencing mild - moderate mental health difficulties, who may also need support with practical, emotional or environmental issues, baby / child development and the parent / infant relationships, infant feeding, establishing routines, reducing social isolation, and supporting financial stability. As part of this you will work on a one-to-one basis and lead group activities.
You will offer personalised support to people at any stage of pregnancy, or in the year following. You will develop strong relationships between Family Hubs and families, strengthening family capacity and promoting self-sufficiency; reducing the stress experienced by some children in early childhood and to minimise the long-term consequences for a baby’s future physical and mental health.
