Job Information
This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about improving the lives of children and families at the earliest stage to join a supportive and skilled team within Northumberland’s Family Hubs.  We are looking to recruit a Family Help Worker to support families with children and young people aged 0-19 (25 with SEND) in South East Northumberland.

 The role

We are looking for self-motivated and responsible applicants who have good communication skills. You will enjoy working as part of a team, but also be able to use your own initiative to work independently.

In this role you will complete Early Help assessments using a whole family approach and provide intervention with issues such as Domestic Abuse, school attendance, parenting, financial support and SEND. We use Signs of Safety throughout and you will be trained in this approach.
We also deliver group intervention programmes which you will be given the opportunity to be involved in and to develop your skills.  You will need to work effectively alongside our partner agencies to achieve the best outcomes for children and families and you will be expected to chair meetings and keep accurate records.

We provide a full induction programme, regular supervision and opportunities for continuous professional development.

As we are committed to keeping children and young people safe, we will apply for full DBS checks.

 We are offering:

Access to the Local Government Pension Scheme (or other pension scheme)

A wide range of staff benefits including a competitive annual leave provision

 Flexible working arrangements

Base for mileage and office facilities is Blyth Central Family Hub, 103 Wright Street, Blyth NE24 1HG with travel expected to families anywhere within Northumberland’s South-East Locality and occasionally beyond.
