The Role
Employment Partnership Co-ordinator [ESOL and Ukranian Resident Support] The Northumberland County Council Economy and Regeneration Service has a brand new opportunity for an Employment Partnership Coordinator with a specialism in employability, focussing on coordinating English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) provision and delivering employment and skills advice and supports to residents arriving from Ukraine.

This post was developed in response to new opportunities presented in the context of the Northumberland Employment and Skills Strategy and North of Tyne Employability Strategy. It will provide a key role in working with employment support services across Northumberland for ESOL Learners and Ukranian residents seeking employment and skills support.

The role will be part of the Employability and Inclusion Team and will work in partnership with the NCC Resettlement Team, and a range of providers and the Voluntary and Community Sector. It will support delivery of the new Northumberland Employment and Skills Partnership and work within the Northumberland Employability Network.
 
Role Of The Job
The key roles of the job are to;
  • Coordinate development and alignment of ESOL provision and support Ukranian settlers with employment and skills support 
  • Work with partners to fill gaps in provision, reduce barriers to access to ESOL, and improve ESOL pathways to training and employment. 
  • Develop networks and effective partnerships to support collaborative working and avoid duplication
  • Ensure work is linked to employment support programmes in Northumberland and responding to the employment and skills needs of residents.
 
Requirements
The candidate will have;
  • A good general level of education to A Level standard or above/equivalent qualification or experience level
  • A working knowledge of training and employment support services and the employment and skills infrastructure, in particular with relation to ESOL provision and issues faced by Ukranian residents seeking employment and skills support
  • A thorough understanding of the labour market in Northumberland and the North of Tyne area, and barriers to work and learning faced by residents
  • Excellent written skills and be able to communicate and engage with a wide audience and be skilled at building productive partnerships.
