This is an exciting opportunity to support programmes and partnerships that help residents develop skills, access opportunities and contribute to inclusive economic growth across Northumberland.

You’ll play a key role in coordinating employability activities, supporting events and stakeholder engagement, and ensuring high-quality administrative and operational support across the service.

Working as part of a collaborative and ambitious team, you will help deliver the vision set out in the Northumberland Economic Strategy 2035 — creating sustainable economic growth and improving opportunities for residents, communities and businesses.

Working 30 hours per week, on a fixed term 9-month basis, the role is based at County Hall but requires a mix of home working and occasional travel to other locations.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Coordinating delivery sessions, meetings and employability events
  • Booking venues, arranging refreshments and preparing materials
  • Supporting the delivery of employment and skills provision
  • Building strong relationships with customers, employers and stakeholders
  • Attending partnership meetings and networking events
  • Producing and distributing meeting minutes and action logs
  • Supporting website and email communications
  • Maintaining accurate customer and project records in line with GDPR
  • Collating information and evidence for compliance and reporting purposes

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking someone who is highly organised, detail-focused and enjoys working with people from a wide range of backgrounds.

You are:

  • A strong organiser who plans ahead and manages priorities effectively
  • A natural networker who builds positive professional relationships
  • Service-focused and committed to delivering an excellent customer experience
  • A supportive team player who contributes positively to shared goals
  • Disciplined and reliable, with strong attention to detail and process.

Why Join Us?

This is an opportunity to be part of a service that is making a real difference to communities across Northumberland. You’ll work alongside passionate colleagues and partners to help deliver meaningful employability and inclusion initiatives that support long-term economic growth.
