Position: Housing Services Electrician
Location: Alnwick (Northumberland)
Type: Temporary (End Date, 31st October 2024, with potential for an extension and further ad-hoc shifts / assignments)
Northumberland County Council is looking for a qualified Electrician to join our team through the Staff Bank. This is a temporary role with the possibility of additional shifts and future assignments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform full rewire installations, repairs, and maintenance on the Council’s housing stock.
- Conduct fault finding, testing, and certification of electrical installations in line with industry standards.
- Work closely with tenants, internal teams, and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality service.
- Mentor and supervise apprentices, supporting their development and training.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Must hold 18th Edition certification and City & Guilds 2391 (or equivalent).
- Substantial experience in electrical testing, fault finding, and working with IEE and NICEIC regulations.
- Competent in using IT systems relevant to the role, including EasyCert.
Requirements:
- Full, clean driving license.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional out-of-hours support.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

The Staff Bank is managed by the Temporary Staffing Team, who you can contact via temporarystaffing@northumberland.gov.uk.
