An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to play a key role in Northumberland's dedicated Electoral Services Team, helping to deliver elections and electoral registration requirements.

 

The role:

The Electoral Services Team who are based at Morpeth are looking to recruit an Electoral Services Officer to provide leadership and support with the effective and efficient delivery of the electoral registration process, all elections, referendums, and reviews when required in accordance with electoral legislation.

About you:

We are looking for a well organised individual who can demonstrate effective administration, organisational, ICT (Xpress), and communication skills with a willingness to embrace new ways of working for future changes and best practice works within electoral services. You must also have the capability to produce work of a high standard while under pressure to meet statutory deadlines with ability to plan and prioritise your own workload and that of others, whilst using your initiative to work independently or as part of a team.

The post holder must be able to communicate confidently and effectively with elected members, key stakeholders, residents, and staff. Working unsociable hours may be required at busy periods during the run up to an election and canvass that involves working both evenings and weekends.
