Job Information

Working with Lesley and her team, we are looking to recruit an Early Help Family Worker to support families with children and young people 0-19 within Northumberland’s Family Hubs.

The role

As you would expect, we are looking for self-motivated and responsible applicants, with good communication skills. You will enjoy working as part of a team, but also be able to use your own initiative and work independently to manage your commitments.

You will need to be competent in completing assessments and keeping written records, working with individual family members and supporting them all together; ideally experience in delivering training/programmes, although showing the skills and confidence in this area is more important. You will also need to work effectively alongside our partner agencies to achieve the best outcomes for children and families. You will be expected to chair meetings and keep accurate records.

We provide a full induction programme to our supportive and nurturing team approach. We encourage and value your personal and professional development and you will be joining an enthusiastic, welcoming and committed team who are keen for you to succeed.

As we are committed to keeping children and young people safe, we will apply for full DBS checks.

We are offering:

A starting salary of £27,344, 37 hours a week worked agilely and flexibly.

Access to the Local Government Pension Scheme (or other pension scheme)

A wide range of staff benefits including a competitive annual leave provision

Flexible working arrangements

Base for mileage and office facilities is Dene Park House, Hexham with travel expected to families anywhere within the West Locality and occasionally beyond.

Essential requirements:

A minimum of a level 3 qualification in Children and / or Young People or equivalent is essential, as is a good depth of understanding and knowledge of child / young person development. You need to show knowledge and experience of the Early Help Assessment process and be able to demonstrate an ability to chair TAF meetings.
