Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

Job Information

The Data Support Analyst will provide support and vital information for a range of senior colleagues including Heads of Service and senior managers, stakeholders, supplying them with data and information to help support decisions and self-evaluation. The post is required to deputise for the Business Intelligence Analyst and in time take the lead on small and medium scale projects (e.g. development of reporting systems/data collections, SharePoint development). The post holders need to be able to support the corporate values of the Council and to work effectively with a wide range of staff, many of them at a very senior level.

Northumberland County Council declared a Climate Emergency in 2019. Since then, we have been busy identifying and delivering projects that attract investment to the county, create new jobs for the green economy and reduce our carbon footprint.

What have we done so far?

We have given away more than 30,000 trees to residents and community groups, extended our Electrical Vehicle charging network, started to decarbonise our council owned fleet, install heat pumps across our estate, carried out energy improvement measures to our housing stock and launched the Great Northumberland Forest!

We have set out details of the projects we need to deliver in the next two years and a route to achieving net zero by 2030 in our most recent Climate Change Action Plan (www.northumberland.gov.uk/climateactionplan).

Delivering Sustainable Homes

We are seeking people to help with one of Northumberland's main challenges to reaching net-zero, domestic heating, and energy. To deliver our climate plan we have set up ‘Warmer Homes’ which is Northumberland County Council’s new in-house delivery scheme for the delivery of government funding, for the retrofit of domestic dwellings.

Warmer Homes will help make homes in Northumberland more energy efficient, with funding available for eligible residents living off the gas grid. The warmer homes team will have until 2025 to deliver energy efficiency improvements on at least 600 homes in the region.

This team will work directly with residents and suppliers to design and deliver changes that will make a real difference at the front line of climate change, while also bringing direct benefits to local people by providing warmer homes.

If you enjoy solving complex problems, working with people and are passionate about climate mitigation and adaptation then we would love to meet you.

Your portfolio would include supporting overall project delivery and monitoring project performance.  Some experience in project management, or the construction or housing sector would be preferable, but not essential.

We are interested in applications from people from all backgrounds and are especially interested in applications from a diverse range of individuals. This role may appeal to recent graduates, as well as more experienced candidates looking for a new challenge. Previous experience of working as a part of a climate change team, or in the public sector is not a requirement.
