Job Information

The Corporate Fraud Team are part of the Council's Internal Audit and Risk Management Team and are responsible for the prevention and detection of fraud and error across all services that the council deliver. Investigating reports of fraud against the council and working with partner organisations as required. Investigations are conducted to the criminal standard with appropriate action taken, including criminal prosecutions. 

In addition to investigating cases of suspected fraud, the team provide support and advice on fraud detection and preventative measures.

We operate a hybrid style of working with a combination of working from home and office.



The role:

This is a fantastic opportunity for an extremely motivated and proficient investigator to join a high-performing service.

The ideal candidate will be an Accredited Counter Fraud Specialist and have experience in criminal fraud investigation.

The post involves investigating a wide range of reports made to the council about fraudulent activity, running proactive campaigns, and working with internal departments and external partners.

Reporting to the Corporate Fraud Manager the post holder will manage their own investigations as the Officer in Charge, as well as supporting and assisting colleagues in their investigations to achieve the team targets.



Requirements:

As well as hybrid working from home and office the successful candidate will be required to travel across the county to visit people in their homes and conduct interviews in our various offices, therefore you must be able to meet the travel requirements of the role. A full driving license and transport would be preferred.
