About the role:

We are looking for a Part Time (22.2 hours per week) Contracts and Procurement Lawyer to join our dynamic, busy and friendly legal team.

CLOSING DATE- 08.01.2024 at midnight.

Your main responsibilities will include advising on public procurement law, drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts and public sector agreements; and advising on contractual disputes.

The successful candidate would also ideally be able to provide advice with regard to subsidy control and / or information law including GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, Freedom of Information Act and the Environmental Information Regulations.

The successful candidate will bring existing knowledge in the areas of Contracts and Procurement and / or an enthusiasm to learn and develop in this area, to advise in-house clients and colleagues. You will need an eye for detail and good organisational skills, which will enable you to carry your own workload. Flexible and innovative in your approach, you will help us to positively develop new areas of practice.

The post has a starting salary of between pro rata per annum for those who are less than 2 years PQE (Band 8 - £37,336 - £41,418); or £47,420 pro rata per annum for those with more than two years PQE (Band 10 - £47,420 - £51,515). Individuals appointed to Band 8 will transition to Band 10 upon attaining two years PQE and successful completion of the six-month probation period.

The working arrangements are flexible, with office-based working in County Hall, Morpeth and the opportunity to work on a hybrid office / home basis.

Requirements of the role:

· Qualified Solicitor or Barrister or Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives holding a current practicing certificate. 

· Existing knowledge of contracts and procurement law preferred.
