Business Support Coordinator

Job Information

This is a new role within The Deputyship Team (Adult Social Care Finance). The team manages the financial affairs for clients, who The Council acts for as a Deputy or as a DWP Appointee.

The successful candidate will be responsible for notifying, completing, submitting and following up applications for Deputyship to the Court of Protection and also submitting and following up applications to the DWP for Appointeeship. You will also be responsible for paying invoices, applying for exemptions on OPG and Deputyship application fees, as well as administrative support for the extremely busy team.

The team has two Finance Leads, 6 FTE Deputyship Officers and 4.6 FTE Deputyship Assistants.

This is a demanding role and due to the nature of the tasks, the post will be office based initially however there will be scope for some hybrid working in the future.

This post is based at County Hall in Morpeth.


Requirements of the role, the postholder must have:

  • A good standard of English and Maths
  • Ability to work at a fast pace
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication/telephone skills
