Northumberland County Council is looking to appoint a permanent, full-time Built Heritage and Design Officer.
This is an exciting opportunity to protect and promote Northumberland’s unique built heritage. Working within the multi-disciplinary Environment and Design Team, you will work with the team of Built Heritage and Design Officers to deliver a full building conservation service across Northumberland.
You will liaise with Development Managers and other council departments to provide conservation and design advice to ensure the protection, maintenance and enhancement of the historic built environment.
We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and self-motivated Conservation expert with experience of working with listed buildings and conservation areas and practical conservation of the historic environment.
You will have:
A degree or postgraduate qualification in Historic Building Conservation, Urban Design, Architecture or other relevant subject, with knowledge of historic building design and construction.
Effective time management
Excellent communication skills
Be committed to providing a customer-focused service
The post involves travel throughout the County, therefore you must be able to meet the transport requirements.
