Job Information
ROLE OF THE JOB
The postholder is responsible to act as a surveyor within the Building Control function for the Council and to assist senior staff in all matters relating to the Building Act, Building Safety Act and Building Regulations to meet the requirements of the legislation.
The postholder will be expected to help provide a Building Control Service to ensure legislative compliance of submissions and site work.
The postholder will be expected oversee schemes over a range of building practises.
The post holder falls into the requirement of having to be registered with the Building Safety Regulator as set out in Part 2A, Registration of Building Control Profession, of The Building Act 1984. Specific reference is to be made to sections 58A to 58M of The Building Act 1984 which relates to the registration of building inspectors.
REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB
- Experience in the building environment.
- Knowledge of the Building Regulations and their processes.
- Registration required with the Building Safety Regulator.
- Ability to work under pressure with several completing demands.
- Ability to solve problems and demonstrate innovation in problem solving liaising with other professionals where necessary
- Valid UK driving licence
- Commitment to customer care
