ROLE OF THE JOB
We are looking for a forward-thinking and enthusiastic individual to join our Internal Audit team delivering excellent audit services to the County Council, its group entities and a small number of external clients.
You will be part of the Internal Audit and Risk Management Service which operates very effectively and is valued throughout the organisation whilst aiming to continually improve. The service provides Internal Audit, Risk Management and Corporate Fraud services to the County Council and is part of the Transformation and Resources Directorate.
We are searching for a confident and focused individual who will bring enthusiasm to the role, making a real difference to the Council and its services. You will perform, and assist in performing, high quality audits to a range of customers, in accordance with the Strategic Audit Plan, under the direction of the Group Assurance Manager or Senior Auditor and prepare clear and concise audit reports at the conclusion of each audit assignment. If you have an analytical mind, are practical and solution focused, and have good communication skills, then this role could be for you.
REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB
- AAT, IIA or other suitable professional qualification, qualified or part qualified.
- An active appreciation of the procedural and practical issues relating to audit and risk management.
- Competence in using Microsoft Office, Oracle applications, word processing, spreadsheets and database systems.
- Knowledge of, and experience in undertaking, internal audit reviews within a large and complex organisation and acting on findings.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; excellent written business English.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills, including the development of practical solutions.
